About Water Parks

There are two main types of water parks, outdoor water parks and indoor water parks. The traditional outdoor water park was introduced in the 1940s and 1950s, while indoor water parks first appeared in 1985. Both types of parks feature wave pools, activity pools, and water slides, though indoor water parks are usually much smaller and are often located in colder climates. Indoor water parks also offer year-round entertainment, and are usually part of a resort destination. Popular indoor water parks include Kalahari Wisconsin, Kalahari Ohio, Fallsview Water Park, Great Wolf Lodge, and the CoCo Key Water Resort.[8] Popular outdoor water parks include Schlitterbahn (four locations), Rapids Water Park, Hawaiian Falls (four locations), Sandcastle, Camelbeach, Myrtle Waves, Nashville Shores.
