Texas Renaissance Festival coupons help visitors save on admission to the fair each year, with dollars off discounts to those who purchase their tickets online or visit in groups of 25 or more people. The Texas Renaissance Festival is held every October and November in Plantersville, Texas, and is the largest renaissance festival in the United States, welcoming more than 500,000 people each year. For eight weekends, the festival takes visitors back in time to the 16th century, offering period food, games, rides, shopping, and shows. The festival, which is located 50-miles from Houston, has been entertaining visitors since 1974.[1]

About the Texas Renaissance Festival

The 2016 Texas Renaissance Festival takes place from October 8 through November 27, weekends only, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission prices at the gate are $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 5-12. Included in admission are stage shows and all the entertainment. Food, rides, games, and beverages all cost an additional fee.[2]

In 2016, the festival celebrates its 42nd year. The festival features more than 200 daily performances and over 400 shops for visitors to explore. Visitors can also watch artisans demonstrate their wares, including blacksmiths, pottery makers, weavers, and glass blowers.[1]

Each year the festival features themed weekends. The 2016 themed weekends include 1001 Dreams, Pirate Adventure, All Hallows' Eve, Oktoberfest, Roman Bacchanal, Barbarian Invasion, Highland Fling, and Celtic Christmas.[1]

Texas Renaissance Festival Coupons and Free Offers

  • Children under the age of five are admitted free.[2]
  • General parking is free.[2]
  • Guests who visit the festival with a group of 25 or more people save $10 off the gate price for adults and $6 off the gate price for children. Additional group information is available by calling 800-458-3435 or by email at groups@texrenfest.[3]
  • Discount tickets are available for purchase online, by mail, by phone, or at ticket outlets. This includes participating Walgreens. Online tickets are $23.95 for adults and $11.95 for children plus a $2 processing fee, saving visitors $4 on adult tickets and $1 on child tickets.[3]
  • First responders receive $10 off gate admission for up to four people with a valid ID.[2]
  • Oil and Petrochemical employees Recreation Association members receive $10 off adult admission and $6 off child admission using corporate code OPA61.[4]
  • Kids receive free admission every Sunday of the festival.[4]
  • Every year, the festival sponsors Annual School Days. In 2016, this falls on November 1 and 2. All students and teachers receive festival tickets for $9, a savings of $6 for kids and $10 for teachers.[5]
  • The festival has several hotel partners, many of which offer special rates for festival visitors or special packages. For example, La Toretta Lake Resort offers a package good for overnight accommodations and two festival tickets.[6]
  • The Texas Renaissance Festival operates a Facebook page, and sometimes sponsors contests and free ticket giveaways for visitors.
  • On occasion, the festival offers Groupons good for 49 percent off a Weekend Pass.[7]
  • Various places offer free ticket giveaways and contests. For example, KRIV Fox 26 offers free ticket contests on its Facebook page, as do many other local television and radio stations.

Texas Renaissance Festival Pass Discounts

The festival offers several pass and packs to visitors each year. For example, a "Family 4-Pack," which provides customers with two adult tickets and two child tickets, is available for a discounted price. The offer is only available when purchased online, by phone, or through the mail. An "Adult 4-Pack" is also available for purchase, and is good for four adult tickets for a special deal. This deal is also available online, by mail, or by phone only. Season passes are another option, available for adults only. However, the pass offer ends the day the festival opens each year. Weekend passes are another option, good for one Saturday and one Sunday, but they do not have to be used on the same weekend.[3]
