About Strasburg Railroad

Strasburg Railroad is open for the 2014 season from February 16 through December 31. However, the railroad is not open everyday during this time. Strasburg Railroad offers a variety of tour options, including a Shop Tour Pass which features behind-the-scenes guided tours of the mechanical shop, and the Rail Baron Pass, which includes admission to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Guests can also choose one ride aboard the first-class car, unlimited rides on the coach, dining, and open cars, admission to the Shop Tour, and unlimited rides on the Pump Car and Cranky Car and the Cagney Train, and an All Day Pass, which includes unlimited Pump Car rides, unlimited rides aboard the Coach Car, unlimited rides on the Cagney Train and Cranky Car, and Switch Tower access. The cost for the Shop Tour is $18, the cost of the Rail Baron Pass is $50, and the cost of an All-Day Pass is $18 for adults ages 12 and over, $12.50 for children ages 3-11, and free for toddlers under the age of three.[2]

Strasburg Railroad has a history dating back to 1832, but the earliest recorded date for scheduled trains was December of 1851. Strasburg's Leaman Place was also the stopping point for President Abraham Lincoln and his wife on February 22, 1861, when he went on his inaugural train ride.[1]

Strasburg Railroad Coupons and Free Offers

  • An annual Strasburg Railroad pass is available for one upfront cost and includes unlimited rides aboard the Coach Car, the Pump Car, the Cranky Car, the Cagney Train, and Switch Tower access. The cost is $98 for adults and $56 for children.[2]
  • Combination tickets for the railroad and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania are available, saving visitors dollars off the admission if purchased separately.[2]
  • Group discounts and package deals are available for those visiting with 15 or more people. Walk-in groups are only accommodated depending on the availability.[3]
