The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is set against the backdrop of the 16th century, and offers jousting, comedy, artisans, and costumed characters. The festival is open six weekends each year during the months of August and September. The 2016 festival takes place Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday from August 20 through September 25. Operating hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival Coupons and Free Offers

  • Consumers who visit with a group are able to save. Additional information on discount prices and reservations is available by contacting group sales at 724-872-1670.[2]
  • The "Accommodations" section of the official website provides information about package deals with area hotels. An overnight stay package typically includes festival admission. Discounts are available through hotels like the Days Inn — Donegal, and may be offered through hotels like the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott — New Stanton, the Holiday Inn Express — Mount Pleasant, and Super 8 — New Stanton.[3]
  • Tickets are available to purchase in advance online each year. The savings is $1.50 on adult tickets and $1 on child tickets.[4]
  • Discount tickets are available at participating Walgreens, goof for $3 off adult admission and $1 off child admission.[5]
  • $3 off discount tickets are also available at Shop 'n Save Grocery Store. Customers also have a chance to win $1,000 worth of free gasoline with a ticket purchase.[5]

  • Visitors who show their Giant Eagle Advantage Card at the festival box office are eligible for $2 off adult admission for up to two people per card. Every year, the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival features themed weekends, many of which include special discounts and deals. To celebrate Opening Weekend each year, for example, participating Wendy's locations offer a printed coupon good for a buy one, get one free (BOGO) admission. On Children's Weekend each year, the festival provides free child admission with the purchase of an adult admission for kids 12 and under. The festival typically sponsors a Union Appreciation Weekends as well, providing all members of a union (with validation), a buy one, get one free admission deal.[1]

About the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival

The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival offers period food, entertainment, games, and shopping. Some of the special shows offered include The Duelists, The Amazing Hypnotist, Great Balls of Fire, The Plunder Doggs, Temujin the Storyteller, the German Brothers, Washing Well Wenches, and Ye Klass Klowne.[8]

Admission prices are $19.95 for adults and $9 for children 5-12. Free admission is available for children under the age of 5. Parking is available free on-site, and the festival is open rain or shine. The festival welcomes over 70,000 visitors a year.[5]
