Minnesota Renaissance Festival coupons and discounts provide several savings opportunities for patrons each year. Printed coupons and discount tickets are available through several participating businesses. Season pass offers, resident discounts, senior offers, and AAA discounts are also available.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival takes place each year from the middle of August through early October, offering visitors 16 stages that feature a variety of entertainment. The festival, which celebrates its 46th year in 2016, is held over seven themed weekends and features more than 250 artisans demonstrating their wares, period food and drink, and live jousting. Themed weekends for 2016 include Highland Fling, Wine, Chocolate and Romance, Shamrocks and Shenanigans, and Oktoberfest.[1]

About Minnesota Renaissance Festival

The 2016 Minnesota Renaissance Festival takes place from August 20 through October 2. The festival is open weekends, Labor Day, and Festival Friday, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking is available free on site.[1] Ticket prices at the gate are $23.95 for adults and $14.95 for children 5-12.[3]

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival welcomes an average of 300,000 guests each year, making it the largest renaissance festival in the U.S. The festival, which began in September of 1971, takes visitors back to the 16th century.[5] The festival offers visitors a variety of services and options, including stroller and wheelchair rental, same day reentry with hand stamp, costume rentals, and on site ATMs. Pets are also allowed.

Minnesota Renaissance Festival Coupons and Free Offers

  • General admission tickets purchased in advance online are available at a discount. The savings versus the standard gate admission is $3 for adults and $2.45 for children. There is no advance discount for senior tickets.[3]
  • Children under the age of five are admitted free.[3]
  • Tickets are also available to purchase in advance at participating retailers, including Walgreens, Whole Foods, Menards, and SuperAmerica. Tickets are typically available each year after the first week of August. In 2016, this is after August 8.[3]
  • Discount coupons are available from participating Papa Murphy's.[3]
  • Free admission is available each year to visitors who donate a pint of blood on Opening Weekend of the festival. The free ticket is valid any day during the festival's duration.[4]
  • Visitors who donate at least five cans of food on August 20, 21, 27, and 28 and September 3, 4, and 5 receive $5 off admission.[4]
  • September 11 is First Responder Day. All police officers, paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters receive 50 percent off admission with a valid job ID.[4]
  • Admission tickets on Festival Friday are $15, a savings of $8.[4]
  • At select times during festival weekends, free beer and hard cider tastings are available.

2016 Minnesota Renaissance Festival Multi-Day Discounts

Visitors to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival are able to save when they purchase passes or multiple day tickets. For example:[3]

  • The Minnesota Renaissance Festival offers a two-day pass each year. The 2016 pass costs $37.95, saving visitors over $10. Both days must be used during the same weekend.
  • Season passes are also available each year. In 2016, the adult price is $94.95, and a child's season pass is $54.95. These passes provide unlimited admission for the duration of the festival.
